Because of my age and when MTV came on the scene, I imprinted on Let’s Dance-era New Romantic Bowie. These days I think Berlin Bowie is my favourite.

DAVID BOWIE’s new Louis Vuitton campaign has been unveiled for the first time and we have the images to show you. See the initial ideas for the advert with the final storyboard, then go behind the scenes as the campaign is photographed by David Sims.

The advert is the second stage of a film, starring Arizona Muse, that was first launched last November - showing the journey of the Vuitton woman and entitled L’Invitation Au Voyage. Muse’s adventure starts in Paris at the Louvre, before she is whisked off in a hot air balloon which takes her to Venice - where she meets Bowie. Cue picturesque shots of the model travelling along Venetian canals in an old-fashioned boat and decadent scenes of a masked ball - a more glamorous version of the masked, surreal soirée seen in 1986 cult film Labyrinth, which also starred Bowie. Unsurprisingly, the musician also sings a track from his new album, The Next Day.

The full film - which promotes Vuitton’s new Tambour watch and Vivienne bag - will premiere on the label’s app on November 7. A shortened clip will be shown on television on November 10, while the campaign images will appear in magazines and newspapers later this month.

VIEW BOWIE’S $12.99 LOVE IS LOST FILM CLIP NOW

“Halloween Jack is a real cool cat…”

Well this is the news we’ve been teasing you with. We have moved the online premiere of David Bowie’s latest visual back a day from November 1st as it has a “strangely moving gothic inflected storyline perfect for Halloween”….

The video received its world premiere at last night’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize but the full thing is now online over at DavidBowie.com: http://smarturl.it/DBcomLILvid

The stills here and on DavidBowie.com were taken by Jimmy King, who was also the cameraman shooting what has to be one of the world’s most cheaply produced music videos at a mere $12.99!

Les Beehive – Lou Reed & David Bowie
I grew up listening to David Bowie’s 80s pop hits, and remained a fan during his macabre 90s phase, but it wasn’t until around 2001 that I discovered how transcendent he was in the 70s. Now it’s early David that I best relate, and when I first discovered his early genius, I gobbled up every bit of glam talent I could. Ziggy led me, most importantly, to T-Rex and Velvet Underground, and it was Lou’s melancholic ballads that best comforted me when I was blue. They still do. Tonight I have the line from Candy Says playing on a loop inside my head, “What do you think I’d see if I could walk away from me?”
Perfect.
This is a beautiful KISS HIM! photo. Lou is snuggled so close to David, and Bowie looks like the most proper ladyman. They’re so perfectly gorgeous together, looking at this makes my heart ache all the more.
