This is an article by Rick Moody and, apparently, he managed to get Bowie to send him a flow diagram of the themes in The Next Day. I’ve read only a part of the article, so I’m basing my judgement on the bits I’ve read, but the writer comes across as a bit douchey. He’s a double edged blade; trying to sound objective by underhandedly insulting Bowie as he kisses Bowie’s ass.
While I may not see this author in a very nice light from the bits that I’ve read, it’s still very interesting to see Bowie’s themes from Bowie himself.

Some concept art for Diamond Dogs at the David Bowie Is exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Transcript of the first picture:
“One such tribe enters one such building.
The Diamond Dogs enter the ‘World Assembly Building.’
The street level floors of this building are open to the public as gambling rooms (Victim lights/fights(?) explained later) ration collection, (mealcaine) porn peep shops, etc.
Here we find Halloween Jack, Magge the Lion, their son and 12 close building embarking on a riot (well…!)”

I wonder if anyone is tempted to kiss the one on the bottom like he’s sleeping beauty lol. And it just so happens that the one laying down has Bowie’s life mask on the face! They did it on purpose, I’m sure lol.
