He rocked her world.
Actress Susan Sarandon says she had a secret fling with British musician David Bowie whom she describes as “extraordinary” and “worth idolizing.”
The 67-year-old actress revealed she jumped into bed with Bowie while the pair were co-starring in the 1983 horror film “The Hunger.”
"That was a really interesting period," Sarandon told the Daily Beast.
The brief affair took place after Sarandon divorced her first husband, Chris Sarandon, and before she began dating actor Tim Robbins.
Three decades later, she heaped praise on her ex-rock star beau (inset together).
"He’s worth idolizing. He’s extraordinary," she said.
"Bowie’s just a really interesting person, and so bright. He’s a talent, and a painter, and…he’s great."
Sarandon suggested the affair didn’t last because she didn’t want to have children.
"I wasn’t supposed to have kids, and I’m the oldest of nine and had mothered all of them, so I wasn’t ever in a mode to where I was looking to settle down and raise a family," Sarandon said.
"So that definitely changes the gene pool you’re dipping into."
Sarandon apparently had a change of heart as she got older.
She had her first child, a daughter, named Eva, in 1985 while she was dating Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri.
She went on to marry Robbins and had two more children - Jack Henry and Miles Guthrie. The pair split in 2009 after 23 years together.
Bowie, 67, has been married to supermodel Iman since 1992. The couple, who live primarily in New York, have a daughter.
In her wide-ranging interview, Sarandon admitted the [sic] she’s a fan of marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.
"I like those drugs in the outdoors," she said, "I’m not a city-tripper."
